Travel and Food Writing

Panel

Travel the globe, stay in top hotels, and dine at the best restaurants — get paid for that as a top travel or food writer!

Sound too good to be true? Well, someone’s getting paid to fill up the pages of Conde Nast, Sunset, and all those travel magazines! How did they break in, and is the gig really all it seems?

After celebrating its 35th anniversary as one of LA’s longest-running professional writers’ organizations, IWOSC starts off 2018 with a star-studded panel on Travel and Food Writing.

We’ll be talking about issues like…

Moderator: Deborah Shadovitz
Michael Cervin

Celebrate our 35th anniversary at our annual holiday party

Celebrating 35 years of our writer’s group with this year’s holiday party at the Biltmore We will put our writing aside as scribes and guests socialize downtown at the Millennium Biltmore Hotel!  Frescos, murals, embroidered tapestries, carved marble fountains and columns, lead crystal chandeliers, cast bronze stairwells and doorways — and history. You’ll get to meet our Board of Directors, network, schmooze, have a lavish dinner, win prizes, and more. Date and Time […]

Summer party 2017

Summer Party in the Heart of Hollywood This summer our party is in the heart of Hollywood, at the second oldest eatery on Hollywood Blvd. We’re also touring the historic Egyptian Theater located right next door. Come early to meet with friends and catch up on news. Our back room will be ready by 12:30. If you come earlier look for people with name tags at the bar. We’ll then gather in the back room and spill over into the patio. Oh, and we’ll have a few prizes to be won, too. Sorry, reservations are now closed. Date and Time […]

Wednesday, December 14, 2016

Join us in the lap of architectural splendor as we get to know one another better and celebrate the holidays at the beautiful downtown Millennium Biltmore Hotel!

Sitting on half a city block right across the street from Pershing Square, it is centrally located in downtown Los Angeles.

We love its frescos, murals, embroidered tapestries, carved marble fountains and columns, lead crystal chandeliers, cast bronze stairwells and doorways and more.
