OUR PRESENTERS:
ANDREW HINDES is president and founder of The In-House Writer (www.theinhousewriter.com), a Los Angeles-based copywriting firm that helps businesses increase sales, enhance brand identity and communicate more effectively with customers, investors, employees and the media. The company’s clients have included all of the major Hollywood film studios as well as numerous television networks, talent agencies, production companies and PR firms. The In-House Writer has also created publicity, marketing and corporate communications materials for leading organizations in the technology, lifestyle, business services and non-profit sectors as well as many small businesses. Mr. Hindes is an author and former journalist who previously served as senior writer and film editor for Variety.

KAREN E. KLEIN is a Los Angeles-based columnist for Bloomberg BusinessWeek and The Los Angeles Times. Ms. Klein has also written for Newsday, The Chicago Tribune, Newsweek, The Los Angeles Daily News and Sunset magazine. For more than a decade Karen focused on small business and retirement planning. She is the “Smart Answers” columnist for Bloomberg Business Week and the “Q&A” columnist for the L.A. Times Small Business section. Her “Smart Answers” podcast won a gold medal at the 2009 Azbee Awards sponsored by the American Society of Business Publication Editors. For six years, Ms. Klein wrote the “Retirement Planner” and “Ask the Expert” columns for Newsday. In addition, Karen’s byline has appeared in Entrepreneur and other national business publications. She is a longtime member of IWOSC.

MARK MILLER has worked as a marketing communications manager, a creative director and a senior copywriter within industries such as accounting, real estate, law, mortgage, direct mail, non-profit, national membership associations, media and entertainment. Mr. Miller is currently a marketing specialist for High Impact Marketing, where he performs marketing consulting work for a variety of professional service organizations.  Some of the firms for which Mark has worked include Stonefield Josephson Accounting, O’Melveny & Myers LLP, KB Home, KCET Television, U.S. Sales Corporation, and ToyTime.com. Mr. Miller is also an experienced comedy writer. While Mark says he is delighted about his success thus far, he admits that he’d trade it all for immortality, limitless wealth and inner peace.
